🚶‍♀️ Our Sponsored Walk

As part of our fundraising, we’re organising a community sponsored walk around Colchester designed to be inclusive, supportive, and achievable for as many women as possible.

The walk will take place in two stages:

  • Stage 1: A 3-mile walk at a steady, comfortable pace, starting at Colchester Castle.
We will then stop for a planned break. This allows women who may not feel able to complete a longer distance to still take part, be included, and experience the support of the group.

  • Stage 2: After the break, those who feel able will continue on for an additional 5 miles, completing a longer circular route around Colchester.

The full walk will finish back at Colchester Castle.

This approach reflects what WalkNTalk is all about — removing barriers, encouraging connection, and making sure no one feels left out.

Participants can choose the distance that suits them, whether that’s 3 miles or the full 8 miles, and every step taken helps support our community and the work we do.

Sponsored Walk - Sunday 31st May 2026

💛 WalkNTalk Women

WalkNTalk started with a simple Facebook post… and a handful of women meeting for a walk.

What grew from that was something much bigger—a supportive, welcoming community where women can connect, talk, and feel less alone.

Today, we offer walks, CoffeeNChat, CreateNChat and more, supporting women from all walks of life—whether they’re looking for friendship, support, or just a reason to get out of the house.

💛 Why We Need Support

As we’ve grown, so have the costs—insurance, systems, equipment, and running the CIC. Everything is currently run voluntarily, but to keep going long-term, we need support to make it sustainable.

💛 Our Mission

To keep WalkNTalk accessible, inclusive, and low-cost—so no woman is excluded.

💛 Why It Matters

This isn’t just about walking. It’s about connection, support, and knowing you’re not alone. And for many women, that changes everything 💛

We will be meeting between 10am - 10.30am to get organised and take some photos. At 11am we will be setting off for the 1st part of the walk, 3 miles around Castle Park, over to Hilly Fields and back to the Castle for refreshments and a break. After the break those that can and want to, will walk part 2, which is 5 miles over to Cymbeline Meadows and back.
